This one will surprise you. Former president Barack Obama has an “unexpected” trip to Honolulu, Hawaii a few days before US District Court Judge Derrick Watson blocked the tempory refugee ban introduced by President Donald Trump. Judge Watson presides in Honolulu, so you’re probably guessing what was Obama doing there.
Coming off a string of high-profile meetings, former President Barack Obama made an unannounced return to Hawaii Monday.
Just three months removed from his last official holiday visit as president, Obama was spotted dining at Buzz’s Lanikai Monday night.
“We wanted President Obama and his party to have a nice, quiet dinner at Noi Thai, and did our best to keep it under wraps the whole day — even diners on the other side of the restaurant had no idea the president was eating here,” said Ying Rosawan, the restaurant’s general manager. “Only a handful of people knew he was coming. We only told our staff just before he came. In the end, it was so worth it and we really hope to see him on his next visit back home to Hawaii.”
As sources say, lovcal Dems were pretty busing during the day, and they did “their best to keep it under wraps the whole day.”
What happened on Wednesday? US District Court Judge Derrick Watson put the revised travel ban on hold. What was his excuse? The judge concluded that the executive order “discriminates on the basis of nationality.”
According to the judge Watson, “Somalis and Yemenis have the same constitutional rights as American citizens.” We never expected anything like this to happen. Nobody can deny that there’s a link between Obama, Judge Watson, and the block of the refugee ban. This is not good.
So, what was Barack Obama doing in Honolulu? Was he the reason judge Watson blocked the refugee ban?
