In today’s world of politics, if someone is to prosper and succeed, they have to be willing to do many unpleasant things, and get along with people which were once their rival. That was the case this Thursday with Sen. Marco Rubio, who happened to take an unexpected stand for a man which was once one of his biggest political rivals in the midst of a hearing.
During this Thursday’s hearing of former FBI Director James Comey at the Senate Intelligence Committee, Rubio took a stand and summed up Comey’s conversations with President Trump in what was described as an idiot-proof fashion.
“Going back, the three requests [by President Trump] were: Number one — be loyal, number two — let the Mike Flynn thing go, he’s a good guy who was treated unfairly, and number three — can you please tell the American people what these leaders in congress already know, what you already know, what you told me three times, that I’m not personally under investigation.”
With that being said, Comey simply replied saying: “Those are the three things he asked, yes sir.”
The part of the hearing where this happened can be seen in the video below:
Additionally, Marco Rubio destroyed James Comey with one question that obviously left him speechless.
“This investigation is full of leaks left and right. We’ve learned more from the newspapers than we do from our open hearings. Do you wonder why of all the things in the investigation that the only thing that has never been leaked was the fact that the president was not personally under investigation, despite the fact that both Democrats and Republican and leadership of Congress knew that and have known that for weeks?”
On that, James Comey responded:
“I don’t know.”
Right after this happened, the Twitter community lit up:
Rubio has proven himself to be one of the most quality rivals, as he isn’t far off from the reality like the Democrats are, who still believe they won the elections and try to accuse President Trump of an unfair play and abuse of power.
