President Obama won’t even say “radical Islamic terrorist,” so trying to discuss the actions of radical Muslim groups like ISIS will surely get you called a racist or at least intolerant.
“There are 1.2 billion Muslims in the world today. Of course not all of them are radicals. The majority of them are peaceful people…but the peaceful majority [are] irrelevant,” said ACTI for America Founder and President Brigitte Gabriel during a public forum hosted by the Heritage Foundation.
The ACTI for America president was responding to a question, or rather a complaint, by a member of the audience who claimed all Muslims are portrayed as radical jihadists – noting such a label was unfair.
Saba Ahmed, the audience member, tried to make her own point sink in by noting that there are eight million Muslims in America, and most of them are not followers of ISIS or otherwise believe in radical Islam.
Gabriel then delved more deeply into the heart of the matter. “The radicals are estimated to be between 15 to 25 percent, according to all intelligence services around the world…You’re looking to 180 million to 300 million people dedicated to the destruction of Western civilization.”
Perhaps 15 to 25 percent doesn’t sound like a very large number and that’s why liberal elites always throw around the percentage while downplaying how many radical Islamic terrorists truly exist. Kudos to Brigitte Gabriel for doing the math – something mainstream media “journalists” should have done a long time ago when interviewing Democrats about the terror threats we and our families face.
“Why should we worry about the radicals, the 15 to 25 percent? Because it is the radicals that kill. Because it is the radicals that behead and massacre,” Gabriel continued. “When you look at all the lessons of history, most Germans were peaceful.”
Saba Ahmed went on to maintain the battle against terrorism is an ideological war that cannot be fought with weapons. The Muslim woman went on to indicate that the only way to win such a war is to fight back intellectually and not with bullets and bombs.
“We [are] not here to bash Muslims. You are the one who brought up…Muslims,” Gabriel continued. “We are here to discuss how four Americans died [in Benghazi] and what our government is doing.”
As typically happens when discussing any topic with a liberal, the accuser lashed out not with facts but with a strongly held emotional bias on the subject. Being overly sensitive and incredibly thin-skinned is simply not a good way to go through life. Honest and practical, as Gabriel demonstrated, is.
